Vivo IPL 2018 MI vs SRH 23rd Match Review, Scorecard and Turning Point

After suffering two losses, Sunrisers Hyderabad came back to winning ways as they defeated Mumbai Indians by 31 runs in a low-scoring encounter at the Wankhede stadium

After being put into bat first, the Sunrisers were off to a disastrous start as New Zealand pacer Mitchell McClenaghan struck twice in his first over as he dismissed opener Shikhar Dhawan and Wriddhiman Saha cheaply.

IPL 2018 MI vs SRH 23rd Match Review

Manish Pandey looked good in his brief stay at the crease before he hit one straight to Rohit Sharma at covers. Shakib al Hasan was run out soon after as Sunrisers Hyderabad were reeling at 46/4 in 5.3 overs. Yusuf Pathan and skipper Kane Williamson tried to pull things back but Hardik Pandya had other ideas as he dismissed Kane Williamson for 29. Mohammad Nabi hit a couple of lusty blows before he was castled by Mayank Markande. Rashid Khan and Basil Thampi departed soon after without making any notable contributions.

Yusuf Pathan scored some crucial runs towards the end and helped his team reach 118 in 18.4 overs, a score that is below-par irrespective of the nature of the wicket. But, the Sunrisers bowlers came out all guns blazing as Sandeep Sharma sent Evin Lewis back to the pavilion cheaply.

Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma threw their wickets away off the bowling off Mohammad Nabi and Shakib al Hasan and put their team in a spot of bother. Krunal Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav did the repair works as they stitched together a 40-run partnership for the fourth wicket off 6.3 overs, It was when leg-spinner Rashid Khan came on to bowl and he trapped Krunal Pandya plumb in front of the stumps for 24 before dismissing Pollard for 9. Suryakumar, after scoring a 37-ball 34, holed out to Rashid at deep square-leg off the bowling of Basil Thampi.

It was left to Hardik Pandya to take the defending champions home but there was no support from the other end. Siddarth Kaul cleaned up the tail and bundled out Mumbai for just 87, handing SRH a 31-run win.
