Vivo IPL 2018 KKR vs DD 13th Match Review, Scorecard and Turning Point

Kolkata Knight Riders registered their second win of the season as they got the better of struggling Delhi Daredevils in the match 13 of the 218 IPL at the Eden Gardens at Kolkata.

After being put into bat first by former KKR captain Gautam Gambhir, the hosts lost the wicket of Sunil Narine early. Chriss Lynn was struggling with his timing but he and Robin Uthappa made sure that there were no further hiccups in the powerplay overs.

IPL 2018 KKR vs DD 13th Match Review

Uthappa looked good for a big one before he skied one straight to Shahbaz Nadeem for a well-made 35 off just 19 balls. Soon after, Chris Lynn’s misery at the crease came to an end as he hit in the air just to see Jason Roy pluck it out of nowhere. Skipper Dinesh Karthik and Nitish Rana tried to set a platform for Andre Russell to launch but the skipper was dismissed by Morris for 19.

That’s when the Jamaican all-rounder Andre Russell walked out to bat. In no time he smashed six sixes and scored a 12-ball 41 before he was castled by Trent Boult. Nitish Rana reached his fifty and took his side to a decent total of 200/9 in 20 overs. Rana top-scored for KKR with 59 while Rahul Tewatia picked three wickets for Delhi Daredevils and interestingly, all three of them came in a space of five balls in the 20th over.

Chasing 201 runs to win, Delhi lost the wickets of Jason Roy, Shreyas Iyer and Gautam Gambhir in no time and were reduced to 24/3 in no time. Rishabh Pant and Glenn Maxwell provided some entertainment to the crowd before they were dismissed by Kuldeep Yadav for 43 and 47 respectively.

Sunil Narine cleaned up the tail and set up Kolkata their second win of the tournament. Both Kuldeep and Narine took three wickets apiece and conceded 18 and 32 runs respectively.
