Vivo IPL 2018 DD vs MI 9th Match Review, Scorecard and Turning Point

Three matches, three last over finishes, three losses, this has been the story of defending IPL champions Mumbai Indians in the ongoing IPL as they lost their third consecutive match of the season earlier today, this time, to Delhi Daredevils by seven wickets.

IPL 2018 DD vs MI Match Review

After being put into bat, openers Suryakumar Yadav and Evin Lewis went on a leather hunt as they took on the Delhi Daredevils bowlers and scored 84 runs in six overs. They continued their assault until Rahul Tewatia stopped their juggernaut as he dismissed Suryakumar Yadav for 53, with the scorecard reading 102/1 after just nine overs.

Evin Lewis followed him to the pavilion soon after scoring a 28-ball 48. Ishan Kishan tried to keep the scoring rate up by scoring 53 off 23 balls with the help of five fours and two sixes before he was castled by Dan Christian, thanks to a brain fade from the batsman. Since his dismissal, the Delhi bowlers kept the Mumbai batsmen at bay as they restricted them for just 194/7 in their 20 overs, which is easily 30 runs short of the par score considering the start they got.

Chasing 195 to win, the Delhi openers were off to a fantastic start as they pummeled the Mumbai bowlers all over the Wankhede stadium before Gautam Gambhir was dismissed by Mustafizur Rahman for 15. Jason Roy and Rishabh Pant continued their assault as they got their team 100 in quick time. Pant was severe against the spinners and he got out for 47 when he tried to hit one Krunal Pandya delivery out of the park just to see Kieron Pollard take a screamer.

Krunal dismissed Glenn Maxwell soon after, this time his brother Hardik Pandya took a stunning catch. Shreyas Iyer joined Jason Roy in the middle and the duo took their team home without any hiccups. Roy remained unbeaten on 91 off 53 balls for Delhi and was deservedly awarded the Player of the Match.
