Vivo IPL 2018 SRH vs MI Match Review, Scorecard and Turning Point

Former champions Sunrisers Hyderabad sneaked in a one-wicket win against the defending champions Mumbai Indians in a thrilling game at the Uppal in Hyderabad.

Chasing a modest total of 148, Sunrisers Hyderabad openers started off strongly as Shikhar Dhawan and Wriddhiman Saha went after the word go. After the first six overs, they were 56/0 before they lost Saha to Mayank Markande for 22.

Skipper Kane Williamson walked in and looked good before he was sent back to the pavilion in the very next over for 6. Dhawan followed Saha and Williamson back to the pavilion soon after as he holed out straight to Jasprit Bumrah off the bowling of Markande. Markande also accounted for Manish Pandey and Shakib al Hasan in quick succession and reduced the hosts for 107/5 from 62/0 in a space of six overs.

Yusuf Pathan and Deepak Hooda put together a crucial 29-run partnership for the sixth wicket and looked threatening to take their team home. With 12 runs needed off 15 balls, Yusuf Pathan was bounced out by Bumrah and off the next ball, he sent back Rashid Khan to reduce the target to 12 runs off the last two overs with three wickets in hand.

Mustafizur Rahman bowled a brilliant penultimate over as he conceded just one run and took two wickets and set SRH a target of 11 runs off the last over for a win. Deepak Hooda and Billy Stanlake held their nerves and somehow managed to take their team home.

Dhawan top-scored for the hosts with a 28-ball 45 while Markande was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 4/23.

Earlier in the day, Mumbai managed to score just 147 runs, thanks to Evin Lewis’ 29 and 28 each from Kieron Pollard and Suryakumar Yadav, in their innings after they were put into bat first. Hyderabad bowlers were right on target throughout as Sid Kaul, Sandeep Sharma and Billy Stanlake took a brace while Rashid Khan managed to finish with figures of 1-13 off his four overs.
