2019 Cricket World Cup England Team Players Name, Squad, Team List

The early exit at the 2015 ICC World Cup in Australia and New Zealand has completely revamped the way in which the List A format was played by the Englishman. The ECB has made a lot of changes to the side and have brought in specialists to bolster their ODI squad. Since then, the Poms have been a force to reckon with in the format as they squashed every single side that came their way in the last three years.

Skipper Eoin Morgan has done really well in building a squad for the 2019 World Cup that will be taking place in their own backyard next year. For the opener’s slot, they have three guys competing. All three of Alex Hales, Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow have an equal chance of making it to the playing XI and in all likelihood, Hales and Roy will get the nod for the first game.

England’s middle-order is more or less settled with Joe Root batting at number three followed by Eoin Morgan at four, all-rounder Ben Stokes at five and wicketkeeper Jos Buttler at six. This is easily the deadliest middle-order in the tournament.

When all these batsmen fail, England will have all-rounder Moeen Ali coming in at number seven. Ali will also be a part of the spin attack that will be spearheaded by Adil Rashid. The fast bowling department will be featuring three out of David Willey, Liam Plunkett, Tom Curran, Mark Wood and Chris Woakes and in all likelihood, Willey and Plunkett will be missing out on a place in the playing XI.

This is how England will line up in the 2019 World Cup.
