South African and Sri Lankan players progress after their recent ODI matches, with the Netherlands and Nepal also coming in the picture with the recent games.
Akila Dananjaya, the Sri Lanka spinner, has made outstanding gains in the MRF Tyres ICC ODI Player Rankings, after concluding a 5-match home series in style this week against South Africa.
The match-winning figures (six for 29) by Dananjaya in Colombo in the final match assisted Sri Lanka lower the gap to 3-2 in opposition to their higher-ranked opposition. In addition to this, the numbers lifted him 22 places to 21st position (his career-best) after ending up with 14 wickets in hands in the series. He is also now on 600 rating points (his career-high).

During the 3rd one-day match against South Africa, team Sri Lanka was defeated in Palakelle by 78 runs.
The defeat indicated that they were down by 3-0 in the 5-match series but the fans got rid of trash in the stadium after the match. South Africa scored an off-putting 363-7 after losing the toss in Kandy. On the other hand, Sri Lanka was all out in 45.2 overs for 285 as South Africa took the 5-match series from their hands.
