South Africa Cricket Board Announces Upcoming Fixtures For 2018 – 2019

On Monday, the Cricket South Africa (CSA) declared the Franchise fixtures for three of its local matches for 2018–2019 season. The board also announced the senior provincial fixtures for both men & women along with numerous planned tournaments at senior and age group level.

Thabang Moroe, Chief Executive, CSA, stated that the ICC Cricket World Cup is scheduled from May 2019 to July 2019. Similarly, the Momentum One-Day Cup is planned in February 2019 and March 2019. He added that semi-finals and final are supposed to occur right away after the results of the white-ball part of home series against Sri Lanka. Moroe stated that the home series will help in the training of the Standard Bank Proteas for the World Cup.

Moroe explained that the latest four-day franchise game will be divided into two parts. He added that the first part will be carried out from September 2018 to November 2018. At the same time, the second part is scheduled in December 2018 and January 2019. As per Moroe’s view, the latest schedule will fit together with the Test Series against Pakistan.

On a similar note, earlier, Lalchand Rajput, Coach, Zimbabwe, proclaimed the come-back of senior cricketers to the national team. Rajput welcomed the latest change and stated that the addition of senior players to the team will be helpful for him while preparing for tours to South Africa and Bangladesh in the upcoming months.

In a media release from Zimbabwe Cricket, Rajput proclaimed that having a complete team is admirable. He added that the presence of senior players will offer extra power and confidence to the team.
