Graeme Swann States Ashwin Is The Best Spinner In The World

Graeme Swann, England’s Ex-offspinner, came into the news as he stated that R. Ashwin from the Indian cricket team is the best spinner in Test cricket. He stated that Ashwin is simply the best offspinner on an international level.

Swann stated that Ashwin has an exceptional record in the subcontinent and he was impressed because of the way Ashwin bowled at Edgbaston. Swann is England’s second-most winning slow bowler. He holds the history of 255 wickets from 60 Tests.

Ashwin has a record of taking about 324 wickets from 61 Test matches. Of them, about 225 were in India at an outstanding average of 22.79 with the strike-rate of 49.4. He has a record of 20 five-wicket hauls and six ten-wicket hauls in a Test. In England, Ashwin has managed only 11 wickets from five Tests. The average for these matches was 30.63 with strike-rate of 67.2.

On a similar note, the Board of Control for Cricket in India [BCCI] declared on Monday that Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Indian pacer, has cleared his fitness test and he is found to be fit. The BCCI announced that Kumar will be participating in the third-place playoff tournament between India A and South Africa A of the current one-day quadrangular series.

Earlier, Kumar was taking treatment for his lower-back injury. From past one month, he was found to be out of action. Earlier, he had played for India in the third and final ODI of the England series. In that match, he had bowled about seven wicketless overs.

Reportedly, he had missed the first two matches of the series, which India lost 1–2. Eventually, he was excluded for the first three Tests against England. The BCCI used the medium of Twitter handle to declare the latest news. BCCI posted that Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been confirmed to be fit. He will be a part of India A squad in the current quadrangular series.
