Zazai Half Century And Spinners Magic Helped Afghanistan Beat Ireland In T20 Series

Hazratullah Zazai scored the second half-century in a row and then came Rashid Khan and Mujeeb ur Rahman into action during the second T20, leading to dominate Ireland by 81 and sealed the series with one more game yet to be played. Zazai helped Afghanistan overcome its poor start with a total of 82 of 54 balls, while visitors took the opportunity to roll 160 before both the spinners earned 7-34 to defeat Ireland for 79.

With disappointing start from openers, Ireland looked faded from the game shortly after the departure of Samiullah Shenwari and Mohammad Shahzad. But just as Afghanistan’s to-Bat decision became a point of debate, Captain Asghar Afghan accompanied Zazai to recover the innings. The pair placed 116 runs on board in the third wicket in 79 deliveries, with the captain delighted to reverse the attack and score at an impressive strike rate of 108.82.

Zazai, who only played his third game for the national team, was unstoppable. Every free delivery was received with contempt and the early relapse had little influence on the game’s situation. With bowlers that were regularly taking the beatings, Gary Wilson was seen looking for senior player Paul Stirling in an expectation of a probable breakthrough.

Zazai hit three hard sixes and added another 20 in total, breaking the 100-run mark in the 12th over. Zazai on the last ball was out in 16th over, Afghan losing his wicket on the very next delivery, handed the situation to lower-order, who pushed the score to 160, with Najibullah Zadran’s hitting 20 off 10 balls.

On the side of Ireland, Wilson and William Porterfield added 37 runs for the Irish side and to destruct this partnership, the key bowler from Afghan’s squad, Rashid Khan was brought. Rashid followed the track precisely and picked 4 for 1.
