Pollard’s 1st T20 Ton Assists St Lucia End Their Losing Streak

It took an amazing 1st T20 century by Kieron Pollard to assist St Lucia Stars to conclude their long streak of losing 15 matches in CPL (Caribbean Premier League). Just a night ahead, the team had witnessed Darren Bravo grab a win from them in spite of making 212. On August 17, 2018, an 80 from 52 balls by Andre Fletcher and a 104 from 54 balls by Pollard offered Stars 226 for 6.

Barbados Tridents never actually got in the chase and ultimately lacked 38 runs to win after making 188 for 6. In spite of the 2 brilliant battings, Stars will be in a bit of dilemma. There were no contributions from Darren Sammy, David Warner, and Lendl Simmons while Rahkeem Cornwall was once again unsuccessful to make most of his start.

In the fifth over Stars were 57 for 3 when Pollard and Fletcher joined hands to turn the game. Till the second last over, the duo made 148 for the 4th wicket to lift the team over 200.

Speaking of CPL, Trinbago Knight Riders and Jamaica Tallawahs will vie against each other in the 12th match of this year’s CPL.

The Tallawahs have less time to recover from their initial defeat of the season against Guyana Amazon Warriors. It was a day of combined failure for the hosts since they first gave more than 200 runs prior to being bowled out for 138. Consequently, they also lost their top position on the points table. The Tallawahs presently have now lost 4 out of the 5 games that they have played in the CPL at Lauderhill and would expect to enhance the record.

In the meantime, Andre Russell will be eager to vie against his favorite opposition. He has 2 centuries in CPL against TKR. Let us see who will win the game.
