BCCI Offers Asia Cup Hosting Rights To Emirates Cricket Board
On Friday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) officially announced the hosting rights of the Asia Cup. The latest Asia Cup is scheduled to be held next month in the United Arab Emirates.
Amitabh Choudhary, acting secretary, BCCI, signed the agreement with ECB. He proclaimed in a press release that the BCCI is gratified to the ECB as the organization has taken the responsibility to host the 2018 Asia Cup for the BCCI. He added that the BCCI will look forward to some of the sport’s powerhouse nations go head-to-head for ultimate glory.
Choudhary proclaimed he is confident that the worldwide cricket fans will get pleasure from this esteemed event. Although BCCI is the host of the Asia Cup, the latest match had to be shifted out to guarantee Pakistan’s participation.
The latest ODI tournament is scheduled in Dubai and Abu Dhabi from September 15, 2018, to September 28, 2018. It will also include Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and a qualifier vying for the honors.
On a similar note, the BCCI earlier announced that the organization has made a decision to change the location of the Quadrangular series. BCCI will be conducting the latest Quadrangular series to Bengaluru and Alur. The reason behind this shifting is said to be the raining issue in Vijayawada. Earlier, the BCCI had to waste one more day of the game because of rain in Vijayawada.
The initial two matches at Mulapadu, Vijayawada, had to be canceled because of improper ground conditions. The third match of the Quadrangular Series at Krishna that involved India A and India B was also canceled on Sunday due to constant rain. Given the severe circumstances, the BCCI had to make a decision to move the further matches of the series to Alur and M Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru.
