Bangladesh Confident Of Shakib Getting In For Asia Cup
Minhajul Abedin, the Bangladesh chief selector, unveiled on August 18, 2018, that they hope Shakib Al Hasan (the injured all-rounder) to participate in the preparation camp before the Asia Cup, planned to start from August 27, 2018.
Shakib, who had hinted that he might go ahead with the operation after the tour of West Indies, was listed in the 31-man primary squad for the matches planned to take place from September 15, 2018 to September 28, 2018. ”We do not have any news on the operation yet, so, to be honest, we have not mulled over his replacement,” Minhajul, BCB chief selector, claimed to the media in an interview at Mirpur.
”We will begin considering about it as soon as we have a word on his surgery. The camp begins on August 27, 2018, and we expect he will be capable of joining the camp,” claimed Minhajul.
Speaking of Cricket Bangladesh, Mohammad Ashraful (the country’s one-time teen sensation) is aiming for a return to international cricket with his 5-year prohibition for spot-fixing and match-fixing associated charges almost ending.
Ashraful was banned for 3 Years in Bangladesh from domestic cricket for his participation in spot-fixing and match-fixing in the BPL (Bangladesh Premier League) in 2013. He was also banned for the same reason for five years from international cricket. The 34-year-old will be entitled to again play for the Tigers. Ashraful shot to fame by training out to be the youngest century-maker in the Test cricket in 2001 as a 17-year-old.
“I have been looking forward for a long time now,” Ashraful claimed to the media in an interview. “It has been over 5 Years since the day I confessed my participation. Even though in the past two seasons I have played domestic cricket, there is now nothing stopping me from being entitled for national selection,” he added.
